Nowhere Town
Bandit grew up in the Scottish Borders, then went on to study drama in Fife - where she paid for the weekly shop of pasta and Tennents by performing in pubs and clubs. Spurred on by the punters in her local, she jumped into her ancient Ford Fiesta to travel to an audition with hit factory ‘Xenomania’ in London. After a few years of writing for pop giants inc Kylie, Girls Aloud, Steps and The Kaiser Chiefs, Bandit was ready to step out from behind the scenes and back behind the microphone.
‘Nowhere Town’ is Bandit’s first single as an artist in her own right. It’s about coming home, travelling back from the big city, and back to the rural life where she feels comfortable and safe. The sentiment is shared by co-writer, and Dubliner, Kal Lavelle, whose songwriting regularly takes her away from her hometown. Kal recently co-wrote hit record ‘Shivers’ with Ed Sheeran.
Bandit recently took on the North Coast 500, in a camper van that she had no idea how to drive, capturing the feel of, and writing songs about, every town along the way.
