Dea Matrona consists of teenagers Orlaith Forsythe, Mollie McGinn & Mamie McGinn.
The band cites Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA & Prince as their musical influences. All three members are multi-instrumentalists and started playing together after deciding that busking would be a happier alternative than getting a part time job.
The success of their busking videos reaching up to 60K views on Facebook encouraged them to take things more seriously. They have been playing together for around a year and a half and in that time they’ve went from street buskers with a semi-viral video reaching 60K views on Facebook to a proper band who have opened for Ham Sandwich at the Soma festival, Flash Harry in The Waterfront Hall, Nathan Carter on his tour, as well as recently playing the main stage at Belfast Culture Night.
Their debut single ‘Just Wanna Rock,’ combines the sound of the band's classic rock influences and their youthful energy.
