EMR is a 21 year old Irish singer, songwriter, musician and producer. From exploring all kinds of musical genres at a very young age to learning instrumentation and gigging with local bands while growing up, it was a natural progression for EMR to study music in college. She graduated in 2018 with a BA (Hons) degree in music production.
Since then, she has been busy making music in her home studio. Her debut EP 'The Shades of You' was released in October 2018 and is a fusion of alt-synth-pop, indie-folk, alt-pop and cinematic demonstrating her ability to write in various genders. This was followed with the release of her Christmas single 'It's Getting Close to Christmas (Old Rouge Fire)' in December 2018 with its accompanying video which was recorded in Dublin city amongst the Christmas decorations.
Her second EP ‘Health’ released in Jan 2019 takes the listener on an emotional and poetic journey while exploring the areas of mental and physical health and wellbeing. From the EP’s opening line in the title track Health asking ‘What’s the matter you don’t look yourself, are you taking care of yourself?’ to the closing line of the last song Rest ‘I will love you in the morning but for now I need to rest’. The EP moves with the emotions related to mental health reaching its depth in the song I’m Tired Now which says, ‘not all those who are lost want to be found’.
For the Ireland Seachtain na Gaeilge, EMR re-recorded the song Easy Does It into the Gaeilge which is beautifully poetic.
On May 17th EMR released It's Nice to Meet You which was written as the main soundtrack for the Connor King short film Holiday Home, the film also features her song Rest from the Health EP.
EMR is currently producing music for other musicians while continue to work on her own productions.
