Electra's Love
Shocks are a three-piece rock band from Bangor, Northern Ireland, characterised by music which marries infectious guitar riffs and thunderous drums with provocative lyricism and guile.
Frivolously formed in early 2019 following late night discussions at a local pub between close friends Andrew Wilsdon (Lead Vocals, Bass), Ryan Davison (Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals) and Andrew Rutledge (Drums), Shocks began to convene at a local rehearsal studio and pay homage to their shared musical inspirations (Arctic Monkeys, The Amazons & Royal Blood, to name a few). This swiftly inspired a back catalogue of original material which was relentlessly rehearsed, recorded and reworked for the months that followed.
Having extensively honed their sound under the radar, Shocks released three self-produced demos - which quickly amassed over 10,000 streams - and set about making an impact on the local scene by bringing a fine-tuned and characteristically exuberant show to the venues of Belfast.
Following a string of live shows born out of a rapturous reception and word-of-mouth, Shocks settled down in late 2019 to record their debut single ‘Sometimes’ with the highly regarded audio engineer & producer, Lee McMahon.
