Jamie Lee Curtis suggests that musicians should consider holding matinee performances during the day to provide an alternative for those who prefer to go to bed early.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Freaky Friday actor declined an invitation to an Oscars nominee dinner, stating that "7:30 is gonna be nine before we get food, and you know what? There’s nothing good happening with me after nine o’clock. Nothing. Zero!"
Curtis challenged notable musicians like U2 and Coldplay to start a trend by holding daytime concerts with possible start times at 12 noon, 1 pm, or 2 pm. In an interview with Today, Curtis emphasized her call for more matinee performances, stating that she would love to see Coldplay but not if their show starts at 9 pm with an opening act. "I think if we filled a stadium with people who want to see a matinee of Coldplay, I think we would start a trend," she added. With her advocacy for daytime concerts, Curtis aims to cater to early-bird music lovers who would rather enjoy live performances during the daytime than at night.
