The Sherlocks are set to release their fifth album, Everything Must Make Sense!, on February 21st, 2024. This follows the success of their previous record, People Like You & Me, which reached #4 on the UK album charts and included standout moments like a headline show at Sheffield’s Don Valley Bowl and supporting Keane across Europe.
Along with the album announcement, The Sherlocks have released a new single, “Man on the Loose.” The track introduces a new sonic direction, blending driving rhythms with a guitar solo that evokes classic rock energy and synths that add a fresh dimension. Vocalist Kiaran Crook describes the song as having a "stomping attitude" and says it captures the band's ability to balance aggression with anthemic melodies.
Regarding the new album, Kiaran explains that the band has reached a point where they are comfortable exploring new ideas. "We’re confident in our sound and identity, which allows us to experiment without worrying about the outcome. The album will surprise a lot of people." The result is a collection that moves between energetic rock, introspective acoustic moments, and bold synth-driven tracks.
Drummer Brandon Crook found the recording process particularly challenging but rewarding, saying, "It was the most demanding album I’ve ever recorded, but working with producer David Radhad-Jones really pushed us to new heights." The band previously worked with Radhad-Jones on People Like You & Me, and this collaboration continues to evolve their sound.
The Sherlocks will take their new material on the road later this year, joining Shed Seven on their 30th anniversary tour. Several dates are already sold out, underscoring the anticipation around the band’s live performances.
